Today we talked about Population and birth and death rates. At this point right now there are about 7.5 billion people in the world. 90% of the worlds population growth is coming from developing countries. In places like India it is not uncommon to have more than three kids. This is why they are ranked second in the world for population. On to birth and death rates. In 1804 there was only 1 million people in the world. By 1927 there was 2 million. In 1999 there was about six million people in the world. About every 12 years another million people show up on the planet. Crude birth rate is the number of births per 1000. The crude death rate is the number of deaths per 1000.
