Today in class we continued our slides presentation and learned about Tarquin and his family. Because of Tarquins son trying to rape a respected woman in Rome, the Tarquin family was banished from the Roman throne forever. In time, the Romans got rid of kings and replaced them with two consuls. Consuls were elected official who were aristocrats. They stayed in office for a term of one year so that if they weren't very good at their job the people of Rome could get a new person to do the job. In the fifth century a new group rose up and tried to end the aristocratic dominance in the government of Rome and that was the plebians. They were the everyday regular people who wanted a say in what happened in the Roman government.
