today in class we took notes on the government inside of Rome. We talked about the three branches of government back in Roman times and in today's world. For the executive branch, Rome had to consuls who each had one-year terms and had veto power. The united states has the president who serves a four-year term and can veto proposed laws. The legislative in Rome has a Senate of 300 people who were aristocrats and served a lifetime term. .The united states has a Senate of 100 people who serve six-year terms. The judicial for Rome has praetors who are chosen by the centuriate assembly and they serve one-year terms. The united states has the supreme court who has nine members and they serve a life sentence and are appointed by the president.
